Weir Haven, in all it’s peace, tranquility and beauty comes into view as you drive through it’s imposing, remote controlled handcrafted wooden gates. A short curved gravelled drive brings you to the cobbled entrance. The unique fairytale design of the house with it’s ‘horseshoe’ thatched roof, eyebrow windows and climbing roses will take you back in time whist the charming cottages gardens complete the feeling of serenity and charm.
The property comprises 3 bedrooms all with private bathroom or ensuite, large drawing room, diningroom to seat up to 16, large kitchen, downstairs WC and utility room. The owner lives in an adjoining apartment.
The house itself is furnished with top quality items including carefully chosen fabrics, rugs, art and antiques.

Entrance Hall: with marble floor and curved stairs and leading to a handmade stained glass window by the well known artist Catheine Lambe. First floor landing has a most amazing turreted ceiling with large gilded lantern and Edwardian writing desk.
Drawing Room: Overlooking the cottage gardens with magnificent views of the Weir and Kilcolgan Castle this is a splendid room with bay window, French doors, marble floor, finished with Persian rugs, Beaumont & Fletcher wallpaper, Victorian walnut cottage piano, Louis X1V Marble fireplace flanked on either side by 2 large Victorian crystoleums, soft lighting, luxurious sofas and beautifully upholstered chairs and ottomans offer various seating areas for conversation, reading or unwinding. Intersting selection of books.
Diningroom: Double doors lead from the drawing room to the dining room which has a matching Louis X1V marble fireplace, marble floor, large Persian rug, magnificent walnut table comfortably seating 16 people, comfortable dining chairs in gold designer fabric and surrounded by choice antique pieces of furniture, lamps and art.
Kitchen: Large kitchen with 4 oven Aga, handpainted, handcrafted units with walnut lined plate rack and walnut lined larder, granite worktops, marble floor,, fridge and freezer perfect for all your cooking needs and generous island unit with highstools suitable for breakfast, coffee or casual dining. Large French style dresser stuffed with fine china.
Rear Porch: With beautiful handpainted dresser and large interesting selection of cookery books. Leading to rear terrace with tables, chairs and recliners.

Upstairs: 3 Large Bedrooms all with private ensuite facilities..
1. Rose Bedroom: Curved beamed horseshoe ceilings with handcrafted chandelier, King Size bed, wool velvet carpet and handpainted furniture leading to marble tiled ensuite with bath and shower. The Rose bedroom overlooks the garden and across the estuary.
2. Lavender Bedroom: With garden and estuary views, painted in tones of lavender with cream floorboards, Kingsized bed, horseshoe beamed ceiling with chandelier, Zoffany curtains, upholstered easychairs. Marble tiled ensuite with bath and shower.
3. Heather Bedroom: Fabulous views on one side to the Kilcolgan River with swans and other wildlife and also on the other side to the pretty cottage gardens. Very large room painted in soft pastel green, King sized bed also daybed (single) curved beamed ceiling with chandelier, wool velvet carpet, large Monet prints and other interesting pictures. Dressing area leading to marble tiled ensuite with large shower cubicle.
OUTDOORS:
Outside there are one and a half acres of carefully maintained gardens with mature trees and shrubs, flowerbeds, walkways and several terraces with seating. Quality outdoor dining sets seating at least 6 on one terrace and 12 on the 2nd terrace. The gardens have breathtaking views of the Kilcolgan River & Kilcolgan Castle across to Morans the Weir Oyster Cottage and the horses grazing in the fields adjacent.

Aillwee Cave -Located near Ballyvaughan, Aillwee Cave is still one of the few caves which has the features of Clare underground - great caverns, stalactites, subterranean rivers, and is easily accessible to the general public. The Cave is open daily from 9:30am throughout the year (December by appointment).
